Started visualVertigo in Calgary, Canada in late 1999 to design websites and banner ads for small businesses in the evenings and weekends while working full time in the wonderful world of human resources (don’t ask).

Attended night classes at SAIT Polytechnic and Applied Multimedia. Received a diploma in web development and a masters certificate with the double major in web and graphic design.

In January of 2000, I took a position as a multimedia developer with SAIT Polytechnic designing content to be delivered via WebCT for their distance education programs. At SAIT, I specialised in designing flash simulations and games for post-secondary students, to make their learning more interactive (and hopefully fun!).

I have since moved to the UK where I started work at the University of Nottingham designing more Flash learning objects.

In February 2007, I left the University to move back into (gasp) the private sector, working for the past year for a small design company called the White Door. Here, I sharpened my web design skills designing sites with PHP, MySQL and (of course) Flash.

I left the White Door in April of 2008 and stepped into the unknown of freelance web and flash developement. I am currently accepting contracts.

I am also a writer for LeftLion magazine where I have a column called "A Canadian in New Basford". You can see it here. The more sensitive of you may want to take a pass on that as LeftLion has (as they put it) "Bad Words Inside". I am also currently writing a book on living in England as an expat.

If you need a website, flash piece, an update service for your current site or writing of any kind, I am available for a very reasonable price. I am also available to work on-site for short term projects if need be.

I offer special rates for schools and universities.
